What was the ranking system in the middle ages?

i found a few sites that may have been it, but i think that those were for videogames, does anyone know the real ranking system?

    In descending order, the ranks (at least in British usage) are: King/Queen, Prince(ss), Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount, Baron. Below that are the noble ranks of Lord and Knight.
    If you want to know more, you should research the term “peerage” for different systems and usages…it gets pretty complicated!
