Hi,
I created a survey which includes questions where the respondents have to put a number beside 7 items from 1 to 7. 1 being the most important.
Now, I was wondering how should I process and display the results in a report : do I show an average for each question with the number entered or do I display all the possible combination with their occurrence.
Any ideas would be appreciated
Thanks tehabwa,
I liked your idea on the “rawest” data which lead me to produce a rather long report, but yet more significant.

Hmmmmmm.
You might consider asking this in the Math — if there’s a Statistics category, all the better.
There are set ways of dealing with such situations. But the FIRST rule is to look at the rawest form of the data. That may tell you what the data SAY, and then you can decide how best to show this.
So, do a tally, of how many picked A as 1, 2, etc. How many rated B as [whatever they rated it].
Look for generalizations you can say.
Then calculate the averages, and see if they are misleading in any way, or they give a good idea what of what people did overall.
