How to create a monopoly ranking system?

get ranking
Chris Parsons asked:

I’m creating a monopoly beer league where friends can just randomly pick up games every week. I want to create a league system that gives points for winning, but in a fair way. For example, beating four people gives you more points than beating two people. The problem is, most players of the league do not show up to every game, so the amount of games played is much different (some have nine, while others still have three). I want to be able to rank players from first to last though (as long as they have a certain amount of games played). Is there any fair way of doing this? Is there a model league I can copy this from?

When I was younger, a whole group of regular Monopoly players read this book

The monopoly book: Strategy and tactics of the world’s most popular game

It was amazing how much play improved – and several of us were fairly hard core gamers. I suspect that you could use it to create such a ranking system, if none exists.

For every person you beat you get 1 point so if you beat 4 people you get 4 point and if u lose u can get 1 or 0 or whatever

Chess is the event where people spent the most effort in developing a ranking system. You might want to do an Internet search for “Elo calculations” (Elo is the name of the system they use). You’d have to adjust it for play with several people though. I suppose beating three people in one game is the equivalent of beating three people individually, so that it would be worth about three times as many points.
