How fast does the ” DEP you can recruit a friend promotion work?” to rank up before basic?

When will i know when i get the rank up? my friend just signed his contract does that mean im now a e2 when i go to basic? or are there others things to be needed to be done… thank you.

    yeah you have to be listed as a referal on his contract. sounds like you are interested in the Army but in all reality there’s no such thing as “ranking up” because your rank doesn’t mean anything other than pay until you reach the NCO ranks

    If you are talking about the Army you get one promotion for every person you refer to your recruiter who joins before you ship, up to E-3. If your referral is entered in the system correctly, your promotion will be on your paperwork at MEPS when you ship and you can wear it right away.
