How does the google ranking and web calculators work?

get ranking
Molly asked:

I have a small blog with the google ranking of 5. When I use an online calulator: http://websiteoutlook.com/ it says my blog is only worth only $65! how does this work? The sites value has gone down, yet my rating has remained the same for some time.
Just wondering how they both work – thanks.
Molly

Below is what is on the Website Outlook FAQ:

Websiteoutlook contains a collection of actual number of pageview from other websites. The visitor data is combined with information about number of links that point towards the site, country, Alexa ranking and other data that is available on-line. All this information has been used to make a formula that uses the information that is available on-line to estimate the number of pageviews, its worth and possible daily incom that the site has

Basically they have made up their own forumla based on all of the factors above. Your ranking may have stayed the same but maybe your page views has gone down and thats why your value has gone down based on their forumla. You wont know exactly how they calculate it unless they publish the formula they use.
