How does NC rank as far as state tax?

It seems awfully expensive. They take more than federal out of our checks, then we have to pay an arm and a leg. How do they rank?

    Federal Taxes are uniform across the country. The same amount would be withheld for Federal taxes regardless of where you live.

    On the above this, NC ranks in the bottom half for taxes.

    NC is approximately in the middle of the states in tax rankings. See for example:

    If you are saying that you have more state income tax withheld from your paycheck than you do federal income tax withholdings, then that is very unusual and something may be wrong either with the way that you are reading the tax statement or the way your company is figuring the withholding. Check with your company’s payroll people to confirm the right thing is being withheld.

    I seem to recall you as having stated recently hat your choice for president is Hillary. That would seem a contradiction with your concern regarding how high taxes are. Have you not thought through your choice?
