How do colleges look at class rank when it pertains to small schools?

Mickie (RED SOX!) asked:

My school only has about 50 kids so to be in the top 10% you would have to be 1-5 in class rank.
How do they look at this? Do they still look at it the same as other schools that may have 250+ kids?

    No, they dont even look at rank so much as the gpa- they usually re-rank you on the scale of gpas for expected incoming students- there bye not even looking at your rank within your school.
